HIPAA Compliance
Protecting patient health information is at the core of everything we build.
NexiScribe is built from the ground up to meet and exceed HIPAA requirements. Security is not an afterthought -- it is foundational to our architecture, our operations, and our culture.
Our Commitment
NexiScribe is fully committed to protecting the privacy and security of Protected Health Information (PHI). We maintain comprehensive policies, procedures, and technical controls designed to comply with the HIPAA Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule. Our compliance program is continuously reviewed and updated to address evolving threats and regulatory changes.
Technical Safeguards
Our platform implements rigorous technical safeguards to protect PHI at every stage of processing and storage.
- AES-256 encryption for all data at rest and TLS 1.2+ for data in transit
- Working toward SOC 2 Type II readiness with periodic third-party security reviews
- Multi-factor authentication and session management controls
- Real-time intrusion detection and automated threat response
- Comprehensive audit logging of all PHI access and modifications
Administrative Safeguards
Our administrative safeguards ensure that our people and processes meet the same high standards as our technology.
- Mandatory HIPAA training for all employees upon hire and annually thereafter
- Role-based access controls with the principle of least privilege
- Designated Privacy Officer and Security Officer
- Regular risk assessments and policy reviews
Physical Safeguards
All PHI is processed and stored in SOC 2-compliant data centers with restricted physical access, 24/7 monitoring, and environmental controls. Our cloud infrastructure partners maintain rigorous physical security programs that are independently audited.
Breach Response
NexiScribe maintains a detailed Breach Response Plan that outlines procedures for identifying, containing, and reporting any security incidents involving PHI. In the event of a breach, we will notify all affected parties and relevant authorities in accordance with HIPAA requirements and within the required timeframes.
BAA Availability
NexiScribe is prepared to enter into a Business Associate Agreement with all covered entities and their business associates. Our standard BAA covers all aspects of PHI handling, security safeguards, and breach notification. To request a BAA, please contact compliance@nexiscribe.com.
